The Açaí commerce in 2019 registered a market size of US 720 million and following the forecast to 2025 it should achieve around US 2.1 billions, as much as the consuming of Açaí increases. For Açaímazon It is just a matter of time once year after year people all around the world have discovered Açaí's benefits.

Our Vision

Açaímazon believes there are two way to attend the global Açaí demand:
 

  1.  Fomenting the familiar agriculture productivity through great technical programs as the one performed by Embrapa-Emater institute. The program called minimal impact handling native Acai palms in "varzea", teach the families that lives along the river, how to get more fruits in long term causing the minimal impact to the biodiversity.

  2. The Açaí palms can be cultivated in agroforestry or syntropic agriculture system, it means reforest degraded areas in the Amazon and expand Açaí production through solid ground using irrigation systems. Embrapa published an interesting article about When Açaizal becomes an Agroforestry System, beyond produce Açaí, the systems enables combined productions such as Cacau, Banana and Cupuaçu. 

Working on both fronts we believe is possible to attend Açaí demand and preserve the Amazon biodiversity. Actually we can do much more, we can recover huge degraded areas generating new carbon credits as second income for those ones investing on agroforestry system.

Açaímazon started working on front number one, making sure that all the Açaí offered to our customers comes from familiar agriculture following the best practices recommended by Embrapa-Emater.

As much as this bridge between the conscious consuming and the maintenance of the Amazon biodiversity has been build by Açaímazon customers, we will be ready on the right time to work on front number two, recovering degraded areas to produce Açaí and generate local employment fomenting the local economy.

Many studies and projects have been made over decades through Embrapa to define the best way to attend the growing global demand with the minimum impact to the biodiversity, the conclusion was that is needed to limit the number of Açaí palms per hectare in native  areas, to avoid monocultures and to keep the efficiency in terms of berries quality, the technique is called "minimal impact management".
